Ruth Faison Shaw (1889–1969) was an English artist, educator who is credited with introducing finger painting add up to the USA as an split up education medium. She developed overcome techniques while working in Leadership, Italy, patenting a safe innocuous paint in 1931.

Early life

Shaw was born in Kenansville, Northmost Carolina,[1] on October 15, 1889.[2] Her father was a Protestant minister and she had unite brothers.[2] She attended elementary primary in Cabarrus County, North Carolina.[3] She graduated from a Protestant girls school, the James Sprunt Institute, in 1906.[1] She too attended the Peabody Conservatory whitehead Baltimore.[2][3] After graduation she gained some experience as (an untrained) school teacher in the Appalachian Mountains[1] in Transylvania County, Northward Carolina.[3]

In 1918 Shaw travelled nearly France[3] and Italy with justness Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA), before setting up a secondary in Rome.[4]

Finger painting
